Everyone knows that the COVID-19 pandemic has made the world come to a screeching halt. Life as we knew it changed overnight. Celebrations such as proms and graduations were canceled, weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs postponed, and vacations and promotions delayed. The disappointment and sadness of such losses has everyone wondering when and if we can celebrate again?

We have currently assisted over 100 clients by rescheduling their events and are happy to advise anyone concerned about the current situation with the information we have available. We are not doctors or scientists, but we are designers looking at ways to be more creative to make events safer for everyone. Of course, we will follow the guidelines recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Although we may not be able to have parties for large crowds at this time, we can assure our clients that we can accommodate and adjust the scale of décor. From intimate backyard weddings to small gatherings in places of worship or unique venues, we will still overdeliver and create a most memorable event regardless of size.

Because of smaller guest counts, design elements not previously obtainable in the initial budget may now be accessible. Clients, especially our brides, can really achieve their dream wedding with all their desires. This may include a multitude of florals, a wrapped dance floor with a monogram, more lighting, accent walls, ceiling décor, and furnishings. Any additional decor components have the potential to enhance the space and create just the perfect ambiance.

For example, we can make seating chart boards instead of traditional place card tables. This allows a hands-free option for seating assignments. Smaller tables can be created for families not friendships to abide by social distancing rules. Therefore, linens, place settings, and glassware can now be another focal point which we can help highlight along with larger multi-dimensional centerpieces. As always, we will continue to offer flexibility in floral choice and share what blooms are local and what are in season which will be the most cost-effective.

The unknown is most frightening and all of us at Dalsimer Atlas Floral and Event Decorators are always here to celebrate and decorate, but we are also here to guide our clients during this uncertain time just the same. At the end of the day, we want to continue providing an ultimate client experience with exceptional service, outstanding value, and magnificent design while reassuring you and your families that safety is also of the utmost concern. For 100 years we have been celebrating life’s milestone moments and we do not plan on stopping now.
