The reality was that Ethan survived his Hebrew lessons and became a Bar Mitzvah. So just like any Jewish thirteen-year-old teen, he wanted to celebrate in a big way. He brought over 100 castaways to Congregation Kol Tikvah in Parkland for an epic “Survivor” themed party. The synagogue’s ballroom was transformed into a jungle-like island. Bamboo posts and tiki torches with faux flames, reminiscent of the popular television series, lined the space. Camouflage netting draped the perimeter of the room while the teen area featured a draped ‘camo’ net ceiling with plenty of foliage. More bamboo posts and a reed fence facade enclosed this area and the center featured a seating area with a faux fire pit as a focal point. An umbrella of greenery, moss, and organic florals covered each adult table. The dance floor was wrapped with a graphic jungle highlighting the Guest of Honor’s initials. The only contest here was who could outlast the other on the dance floor.
