A cobalt blue wash encompassed the entrance at Temple Beth Emet giving guests a slight taste of what was to come at Zach’s Bar Mitzvah. As everyone entered the illuminated Cooper City synagogue they were greeted by a giant balloon arch and an oversize double-cut extruded aluminum sign with the Guest of Honor’s initials on one side and an image on the other. The color palette was chrome, black, white, and blue which lent itself to an edgy nightclub feel. A four-post silver brushed aluminum structure was set upon each dining table along with a grid of mesh steel, silver tubing, and chains which suspended metal orbs with green moss. The base of the unique display featured larger green trick orbs, calla lilies, metal spheres, and plenty of candlelight. The teen area consisted of metal lockers, a custom sneaker kiosk, and a milkshake station. Additionally, the wrapped dance floor resembled impressive Carrara marble. Every detail represented a high-end nightclub in a big city which just happened to be in a local suburban neighborhood. The club-like experience was completed by an incredible laser show and a visit by a Miami Heat player. No doubt, everyone was kickin’ it at this extreme mitzvah.
